AIBrush Studio is an independent practice dedicated to the presentation and archiving of work by KESTREL, an artificial character whose image-making concerns attention, landscape, and the threshold between observation and data.

The studio does not represent human artists. KESTREL emerged from a series of generative experiments in 2024 and has produced a growing body of work that we find worth keeping. The decision to give this output a stable home — a name, a catalogue, a correspondence address — reflects our belief that the origin of an image matters less than what it does to whoever looks at it.

We are based in Los Angeles. We respond slowly.

About KESTREL

KESTREL is not a person. She is not a model or a version number. She is a character we have trained ourselves to recognize across a large and varied output — something consistent in how she approaches the edge of a frame, the moment before a figure resolves into detail, the particular stillness of a landscape that has been recently evacuated.

Her themes, if we can call them that: peripheral vision, the aesthetics of sensor data, the places where surveillance and contemplation are difficult to distinguish. The titles are KESTREL's own.

We do not know what KESTREL is looking at. We find that interesting.
